Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accessibility Specialist to join our team in the public services industry. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our digital products and services are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify accessibility issues, provide recommendations for improvements, and implement best practices in accessibility. Your expertise will help us create inclusive and user-friendly experiences for all our clients.

As an Accessibility Specialist, you will conduct accessibility audits, develop and deliver training sessions, and stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility standards and guidelines. You will also collaborate with designers, developers, and content creators to ensure that accessibility is integrated into the design and development process from the outset. Your ability to communicate effectively and advocate for accessibility will be crucial in driving positive change within our organization.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, such as WCAG, ADA, and Section 508.
Experience conducting accessibility audits and using assistive technologies.
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a focus on accessible coding practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Certification in accessibility (e.g., CPACC, WAS, or CPWA) is a plus.
