Job Title: Senior eLearning Accessibility Developer
JAG Global Learning is looking for a Senior eLearning Accessibility Developer to join our team. This role focuses on developing innovative and fully accessible eLearning courses that comply with the latest Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.2). The successful candidate will work closely with instructional designers, developers, and accessibility experts to ensure our eLearning content is engaging, interactive, and accessible to all learners, including those with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop Accessible eLearning Content: Design, build, and deploy fully accessible eLearning courses using tools like Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, and other eLearning platforms, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, and other relevant accessibility standards.
Accessibility Testing & Auditing: Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing on eLearning modules to identify and fix accessibility issues related to screen readers, keyboard navigation, alternative text, captions, and more.
Collaborate with Design Teams: Work with instructional designers, graphic designers, and SMEs to incorporate accessibility considerations into all phases of eLearning course development, from design to delivery.
Optimize Interactive Elements: Ensure interactive components such as quizzes, simulations, drag-and-drop activities, and multimedia are accessible, providing alternative experiences for users with disabilities.
Documentation & Standards Compliance: Maintain thorough documentation of accessibility practices and ensure eLearning modules adhere to global standards, including WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, and Section 508.
Assistive Technology: Ensure compatibility with a wide range of assistive technologies, including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and other screen readers, as well as keyboard-only navigation and captioning/subtitling tools.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the QA team to establish processes and guidelines for ongoing accessibility checks throughout the course development lifecycle.
Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to other developers and instructional designers on best practices for developing accessible eLearning content.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in eLearning development with a focus on accessibility.
Expert proficiency in Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar eLearning development tools.
Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, ADA, and other accessibility guidelines and regulations.
Experience conducting accessibility audits and testing using tools such as Axe, Wave, or screen readers like JAWS and NVDA.
Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, or other eLearning standards.
Proven ability to troubleshoot accessibility issues and implement solutions to meet compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail with a passion for creating innovative, inclusive learning experiences.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Preferred:

IAAP accessibility certification (e.g., CPACC, WAS).
Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for eLearning development.
Familiarity with universal design for learning (UDL) principles.
Experience with LMS integration and accessibility considerations.
