As a member of the HHS Civil Rights Office Accessibility Team (ATeam) you will be responsible for evaluating all types of electronic information resources for compliance with ADA Title II requirements for the accessibility of electronic information resources external and internal to the agency. You will help content creators, purchasers, administrative staff, trainers and developers comply with all WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) version 2.1 Success Criteria Level A and Level AA. You will also apply WCAG to software, electronic documents, and forms as well as Section 508 rules for hardware and office equipment. You will be working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and looked to by staff and leadership of HHS and DSHS as a subject matter expert in document, form, web, application, and software accessibility. You will be surrounded by a team of accessibility professionals recognized throughout the agency and throughout the Texas State government as leaders in the accessibility field, with a reputation for knowledge, quality, diplomacy, and effectiveness. You will have a positive impact on the lives of members of the public, state employees, and stakeholders with disabilities through the work that you do to make sure that they have the same access to information, services, and state employment as people without disabilities.
