Cynerge Consulting is seeking a 508 Compliance Tester to join a talented, tight-knit, and rapidly growing team supporting the U.S. Forest Service! We are looking for an organized, quality-focused person that can support our efforts in delivering world-class applications to our clients.

Our solutions have supported a range of teams and personnel, from researchers in the Rockies to nursery management to the smokejumpers, a highly specialized team of skydiving firefighters, and the app dev and infrastructure teams behind the scenes. We’ve successfully delivered DevSecOps at scale, pioneered the use of automation and CI/CD, and are actively migrating a portfolio of more than 80 applications to more available and accessible cloud environments.

Candidates will be part of a team that will deliver applications across our client base as well as help us internally modernize our testing practices.

Responsibilities
• Conduct accessibility testing, with a goal of ensuring our applications meet stringent 508 accessibility requirements
• Work in partnership with the application developers, product owners, and business users to understand requirements and project impacts
• Coordinate application testing activities for client applications
• Create test cases based on user requirements, stories, and journey maps
• Perform functional testing based on user requirements and application functionality
• Assess and implement tools that boost our ability to automate testing
• Create test scripts and testing plans that support the application development activities
• Research testing best practices and acceptable thresholds
• Establish metrics for the measurement of acceptable test results
• Define the testing approach, pipelines, and process to be used in our application development lifecycle
• Provide oversight to ensure testing practices are followed
• Manage test artifacts in a Git repository
• Participate in team code reviews and design reviews
• Help our support team triage bugs and troubleshoot production issues
• Adhere to Cynerge and client policies and procedures related to application design, development, and operation
• Support customer engagement and follow-up
• Experienced with agile Scrum project management methodologies and issue tracking tools like Zenhub, Zira, etc.

Prerequisites
• Minimum 5 years’ work experience in a testing role performing substantially all the above responsibilities
• Experience with creating reports and remediation plans.
• 508 Compliance documents remediation experience.
• Experience with creating VPATs.
• Experience writing and utilizing unit tests and end-to-end tests
• Experience with the usage of Github (or Git version control systems)
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• Experience working with Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure is a plus
• Self-starter with an ability to take a task, analyze what needs to be done, and deliver results in a timely manner (we don’t do “analysis paralysis”)
• Detail oriented, team player with an ability to work with minimal direction
• Excellent communication skills in a customer-facing work environment
• Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Required – 508 DHS Trusted Tester Certification.
• Preferred – HUBZone residency (certified at https://maps.certify.sba.gov/)
• Required – US Citizen or “green card” holder
