The Accessibility Analyst is responsible for conducting comprehensive accessibility assessments and audits of documents, websites, and applications, utilizing a combination of tools, techniques, and manual testing methods. With a deep understanding of digital compliance, the Accessibility Analyst ensures adherence to accessibility standards, guidelines, and regulations, including WCAG, Section 508, and ADA. As a dedicated team member, the Accessibility Analyst supports the implementation and continuous improvement of ITDS’ Section 508 and Accessibility programs, collaborating closely under the leadership of the COO. The Accessibility Analyst contributes to the implementation of technical solutions for accessibility, applying human-centered design principles. Additionally, the Accessibility Analyst promotes accessibility awareness and education both internally and externally, actively championing accessibility initiatives within the organization and the larger community. Success in this position relies on exceptional leadership skills, project management capabilities, effective communication, strong interpersonal skills, and an up-to-date understanding of accessibility standards and emerging advancements.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Conduct thorough accessibility assessments and audits of documents, websites, and applications, utilizing a combination of tools, techniques, and manual testing methods.
Identifies and helps create accessibility tools, training, documents for staff training.
Understand digital compliance with accessibility standards, guidelines, and regulations, including WCAG, Section 508, and ADA.
Identify barriers and issues affecting accessibility, meticulously documenting them for effective communication and remediation efforts.
Collaborate with design, development, and content teams to provide guidance and recommendations for accessible document creation and remediation.
Conduct user testing involving individuals with disabilities to gather valuable feedback and insights on the accessibility of our digital products.
Supports the resolution of accessibility issues and complaints.
Promotes the benefits of accessible technologies.
Explores the accessibility industry landscape to identify opportunities for innovative technical solutions.
Proactively identifies procurement and revenue opportunities for the continued growth of the company and its services.
Performs other duties as assigned by the COO and/or CEO.

Required Skills

Technical Knowledge: Uses in-depth understanding of accessibility technologies, tools, and processes to ensure compliance.
Policy Knowledge: Understands accessibility laws and regulations such as the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 508 to create and enforce policies. Works with policy advisors to interpret and promote approved legislative and regulatory standards.
Human Centered Design: Empathizes with users to create customer-oriented solutions.
Managing Through Systems: Designs sustainable processes and procedures for monitoring and managing work. Manages work through processes and other people.
Relationship Management: Builds and sustains trusting relationships, fosters collaboration, and builds consensus around complex issues.

Job Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, public health, or information technology.
Experience: 2 -3 years of working on accessibility projects, collaborating with development teams, conducting accessibility audits, or implementing accessibility solutions.
Travel: While this is a remote position, flexible and willingness to travel for critical client meetings.
Background Check: Complete a successful background check.
