Compliance Specialist - 508 Accessibility

Team Carney is actively seeking a Compliance Specialist in the area of 508 Accessibility to join our team in support of a government client. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, which mandates that all electronic and information technology (EIT) developed, procured, maintained, or used by the federal government be accessible to people with disabilities. This role involves evaluating digital content, including websites, applications, and documents, to ensure they meet accessibility standards.
This position is REMOTE.

Responsibilities:

Conduct accessibility audits on digital content.
Provide guidance on accessibility best practices.
Collaborate with developers and designers to implement accessibility improvements.
Create and maintain accessibility documentation.
Develop and implement accessibility policies and procedures.
Review and test new digital content for accessibility compliance.
Provide feedback and recommendations for accessibility improvements.
Assist in the development of accessible digital content.
Advocate for accessibility within the organization.
Ensure compliance with Section 508 and other relevant accessibility standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum 6 years experience in the area of Compliance/508/accessibility
Strong understanding of Section 508 and WCAG standards.
Experience conducting accessibility audits.
Proficiency with accessibility testing tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Experience working with developers and designers.
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Familiarity with assistive technologies.
Experience creating and maintaining documentation.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
