The newly created Director, Accessibility & Inclusive role will help us to break barriers so that customers, consumers, and employees can all experience our products and services equally. Through your collaborative efforts you will help influence partners across the company to drive forward goals focused on making inclusive design and accessibility a sustainable, innovative, company-wide effort.
This role will report into the Chief Inclusion Officer
Role:
You will be a DEI Consultant to the business to collaborate with internal teams to:
• Frame and support implementation of the organizations global Accessibility & Disability
• Manage the Global Accessibility & Disability SteerCo
• Support business readiness and employee experience initiatives.
• Work closely with UX Professionals, Product Managers, and Engineering to ensure our consumers, customers and employees can experience use of our products and services equally.
• Offer guidance and aid in spreading awareness of and supporting accessibility in the organization's culture and practices.
• Work on ad hoc DEI programs and initiatives as needed
To be successful in this position, you must have a proven expert level grasp of accessibility and assistive technology. You also require a special skill set for problem-solving, effective communication, and teamwork.
All About You
• Significant prior experience working as an accessibility professional.
• Expert level understanding of WCAG 2.1 (AA) guidelines.
• Expert level understanding of assistive technologies and accessibility-related software including JAWS®, NVDA, and Dragon® NaturallySpeaking.
• Deep knowledge of global accessibility standards, trends, best practices, and requirements General awareness of Section 508, ADA, AODA, and EN 301 549.
• Solid interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on collaborating, influencing, and coaching
• Understand the use of new and emerging digital accessibility trends, emerging technologies, and software development techniques while balancing best practices with new ideas and concepts
• Deep connections to disability communities, and a commitment to building lasting network of relationships between these communities and Mastercard
• Available for business meetings and collaboration on Eastern Standard Time
