HYBRID Senior Accessibility Consultant

Our client, a renowned international NGO, is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Accessibility Consultant to join their dynamic team. This organization is dedicated to creating an inclusive world for individuals with disabilities, providing top-tier education, advocating for inclusion, and driving innovation. As a Senior Accessibility Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in making the world more accessible.



In this role, you will:

- Serve as a trusted advisor, assisting clients in delivering accessible experiences for customers, employees, and brands

- Lead engagements with clients across various industries, guiding their digital inclusion strategies and helping them build and scale their accessibility programs

- Review design systems, style guides, wireframes, and early digital prototypes to identify potential accessibility barriers

- Conduct manual accessibility audits of digital properties, inspecting web code or native apps and identifying accessibility issues using a variety of assistive technologies

- Conduct user testing with individuals with disabilities, delivering expert accessibility insights and testing results to clients

- Create and present training materials



The ideal candidate will have:

- Proven experience advising clients about inclusive design and digital accessibility standards and best practices

- Expert knowledge of W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, The Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 508, evolving accessibility standards, and VPAT

- Proficiency with HTML, CSS, and WAI-ARIA (JavaScript a plus)

- Experience with automated accessibility testing tools and the ability to interpret/prioritize results

- Knowledge of standards that apply to accessible multimedia

- Ability to create accessible electronic documents (MS Office, GSuite, PDF)

- Prior experience with project management platforms (such as Asana and Basecamp), collaboration platforms (Slack), and bug-tracking systems (Jira)

- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as computer science, digital design, or user experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in digital accessibility or a combination of 5 years of experience in digital accessibility, software development, digital design for user experience

- IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC), a plus

- Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) Certification, a plus
