2025 Summer Intern – Research and Development - Accessibility BCI/assistive tech for AVs

Work Arrangement : 

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business].


What You’ll Do:  

Design an in-vehicle user interface which can be efficiently controlled by a variety of assistive tech devices

Develop prototype interfaces and conduct user studies to enable evidence-based decisions about in-vehicle interfaces

Additional Description

Required Qualifications:    

Must be a current PhD student or second year masters student in engineering or science
Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week
Research experience in at least one of the following areas: Autonomous Vehicle Technology, Connected Vehicles, Advanced Wireless Technology, Cloud/Edge Compute Solutions, Automotive Architectures, Advanced Pneumatics, Zero Barrier Mobility/Accessibility, User Experience, Display, HMI, Simulation, or other related areas
Strong theoretical, experimental or software programming skills

Start dates for this internship role are May & June of 2025.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is ($5800-$8600) monthly, dependent upon class status and degree.

GM will provide a one-time lump sum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2025 Student Program.
