Accessibility Compliance Officer / Inclusive Design Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Accessibility Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

Ensure that all bank branches and office buildings comply with local accessibility laws and international standards (e.g., Americans with Disabilities Act [ADA], ISO 21542, Taiwan's Building Barrier-Free Design Regulations).
Conduct periodic accessibility audits and prepare compliance reports.
Work with legal and facility teams to secure necessary permits and approvals for accessibility modifications.

Accessibility Audits & Facility Upgrades

Inspect entrances, ramps, doorways, elevators, restrooms, ATM areas, and customer service desks to ensure compliance with barrier-free design requirements.
Recommend and oversee modifications to improve accessibility, such as installing ramps, tactile paving, automated doors, and accessible signage.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and contractors to integrate universal design principles into new or renovated buildings.

Assistive Technology & Inclusive Customer Experience

Ensure digital banking services, and office technologies are accessible to individuals with disabilities.
Implement assistive technologies, such as screen readers, voice-command interfaces, and braille signage in banking and office environments.
Work with IT teams to improve digital accessibility for banking apps, websites, and self-service kiosks.

Training & Awareness

Conduct training programs for employees on accessibility best practices and disability inclusion.
Develop guidelines and SOPs for branch staff to assist customers with disabilities effectively.
Organize workshops on inclusive customer service and universal design compliance.

Stakeholder & Government Liaison

Coordinate with government agencies, disability advocacy groups, and facility teams to enhance accessibility compliance.
Engage with customers and employees with disabilities to gather feedback on accessibility challenges and implement improvements.
Prepare documentation and assist in government inspections or audits.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate records of accessibility evaluations, compliance reports, and facility upgrades.
Support ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) initiatives related to social inclusion and universal design.
Develop accessibility improvement plans for banking branches and corporate offices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred and specialized in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Occupational Therapy, Facilities Management, or related fields.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accessibility compliance, barrier-free design, or universal design implementation.
Certifications (Depending on Local Regulations):
Certified Accessibility Specialist (CASp)
Universal Design Certification
Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)
Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge of barrier-free building regulations, universal design principles, and assistive technologies.
Experience in accessibility audits, facility modifications, and inclusive design planning.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with government agencies, architects, and advocacy groups.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (for reviewing floor plans) and Microsoft Office (for reporting and documentation).
Ability to conduct risk assessments for accessibility barriers and recommend solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ISO 21542 (Building Accessibility Standards) or ADA Compliance Guidelines.
Knowledge of ESG (Social Inclusion & Equity) reporting.
Experience working in the financial or corporate sector on accessibility compliance projects.
Familiarity with LEED, WELL, or Smart Building accessibility enhancements.
