Accessibility Consultant

Working with one of the top financial clients this role calls for an Accessibility Consultant who will collaborate with internal clients with information about their digital properties'' compliance, usability and guidance to make for a better accessible user experience. This candidate will engage with a group of Digital Teams (Ui / Ux, Design, Developer, QA, Scrum Master, Product Owner) and advise them on accessibility throughout the build cycle or remediation of issues. The successful candidate will support will range from providing requirements, answering questions, providing code examples, design reviews, copy deck reviews and testing.



Desired Skill Set:

3 years of experience with Accessibility
• WCAG 2.1 A-AA

• Training on accessibility etiquette

• Regulations (AODA, ACA, U.S. ADA, EN 301 549)

3 years of experience in Accessibility Consulting
• Advising Digital Teams on how to create and build with accessibility as a requirement

• Figma design, copy decks and coded applications

• Solutioning with Ui/UX, Designers and Developers how to minimally adjust their work (visual design/code) and ensure a compliant accessible experience.

Client communication skills
• Listening and asking great questions

• Written emails, Team’s virtual and in-person meetings and Teams chat

3 years of expertise in Manual testing
• WCAG 2.1 A-AA level

• Using tools and assistive technology; NVDA, JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback, keyboard, colour contrast, browser zoom

• Figma designs

• Copy decks

• Familiarity with automated scans and Deque tools

3 years of experience working in Project Teams (scrum and waterfall)
• Scrum and waterfall

• Daily scrums and project meetings

• JIRA or ALM tickets

Certifications (CPACC, WAS, NVDA Certification through NV Access, 508 Trusted Tester)
