Accessibility Auditor - Full time - permanent - Gateshead

Demand for our products is growing and we're scaling quickly - now we're looking for a world-beating accessibility auditor to join our Accessibility Team and support our clients with digital accessibility auditing and compliance.

Responsibilities :

Auditing our client's websites and apps for WCAG 2.2 compliance
Helping our clients to fix accessibility issues highlighted by our accessibility scanner and audit findings
Hands-on accessibility testing of our own digital products
Have an understanding of HTML code to help with client accessibility issues


Key activities:

Audit all outputs for WCAG 2.2 AA compliance
Contributing to an internal culture of ‘accessible by design'
Testing Recite Me products for accessibility
Contributing to educational and marketing initiatives aimed at increased awareness of accessibility problems and solutions


Desirable:

IAAP certification
Experience conducting accessibility audits and managing the remediation of issues
Hands-on experience with Assistive Technology (e.g. screen readers, magnifiers, alternative input, etc)
2+ years of experience in driving accessibility in digital product
Knowledge of auditing word documents, powerpoints and PDFs


Location

Office-based, Newcastle/Gateshead Quays HQ

Hours

40 Hour Per Week, Flexible start (08:00-10:00) and end times (16:30 - 18:30)

Remuneration

Salary - reflective of experience

Excellent Commission - uncapped

Requirements

About You:

You're a digital accessibility specialist, with a systematic approach to auditing websites for accessibility. You can explain WCAG succinctly to people who've never heard of it, you know where the accessibility weaknesses are in digital applications and you know what needs to be done to address them.

You have hands-on experience of identifying and rectifying accessibility improvements in digital products, and you're experienced in designing internal accessibility checklists or workflows across automated tests and manual checks, including assistive technology.

You're up to date with the latest accessibility trends, and have an understanding of accessibility legislation in different international territories as well as future WCAG developments, including WCAG 3.0
