The Senior Director serves in a critical role and is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight for Dallas College’s Accessibility Program. The Senior Director will provide leadership and influence in the development and coordination of accessibility services for all Dallas College campuses. The position will ensure that qualified students, faculty, and staff with disabilities receive equal access to systems and services, programs and activities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and other federal and state laws pertaining to person with disabilities. The Senior Director will also provide support to students, faculty and the community to promote student access and success. The Senior Director will contribute their leadership and expertise towards actively advancing the educational mission, vision and values of Dallas College.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The Senior Director, Dallas College Accessibility Programs is responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight for Dallas College’s Accessibility Program. The Senior Director is responsible for staff development, supervision, and evaluation while leading strategic level planning, collaboration, and program implementation.
Initiates and is responsible for contributing guidance and leadership to campus-wide efforts to address campus compliance with federal and state regulations, and University policies.
Oversees the development of innovative approaches with emphasis on promoting employee wellness and student development, satisfaction, retention, interdependence, and wellness, so that all members of the Dallas College family may participate fully.
Thorough knowledge of all applicable requirements, regulations, and laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Sections 504 and 508, the ADA Amendments Act (ADAAA) for students with a wide range of disabilities, and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Skill in effective use of applicable technology/systems. Ability to effectively communicate thoughts, ideas, and facts. Ability to lead and support a mission and strategic vision. Instructional, training, and teambuilding skills to strengthen and cultivate relationships. Skill in consultation and change management. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with a diverse team, student population, and College partners.
Strong organization skills. Ability to demonstrate, understand, apply, and adhere to Dallas College’s Core Values. Must be able to provide leadership, oversight and accountability for the operational effectiveness and efficiency of an organization to achieve its mission and goals.
Understands and keeps abreast of applicable laws, regulations and government requirements and their impact on the business ensuring compliance through effective procedures, policies, and practices.
Ability to manage and influence complex projects; plan and evaluate processes or programs; examine and re‐design operations; recommend policy, develop, and implement new strategies and procedures.
Ability to provide strategic direction by identifying actions necessary to achieve task(s) completion and obtain results meeting timelines, quotas, budget, performance goals, etc.
Able to collaborate with leadership and/or stakeholders regarding ways to improve the functionality of the organization in the best interest of Dallas College.

Physical Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
Master’s Degree plus eight (8) years of related work experience and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Official transcripts are required.
Knowledge and awareness of ADA laws, policies, and regulations, as well as how this impact higher education.
Work hours may extend beyond the regular, Monday‐Friday, 8:00 a.m.‐5:00 p m. workday, including weekends and holidays to provide immediate support due to system failures on a 24/7 basis.
Current and valid Texas driver’s license required for offsite travel.

Key Responsibilities
Provides leadership, planning, programming, budgeting, and supervision for all college locations.
Lead and coordinate the implementation of sustainable and effective plans, policies, programs, and procedures leading to the equal access for Dallas College Students, faculty, and staff. Monitor efforts for consistency and compliance of outcomes; implement continual improvement.
Ensures compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Dallas College policies/procedures and regulatory rules and regulations.
Stays up to date on best practices and changes in the industry through professional development activities.
Manage multiple initiatives and programs simultaneously, providing assessment, solutions, and recommendations for future improvements.
Analyzes needs and provides insight to the design of solutions. Determine scope and priorities of projects.
Builds and maintains effective and collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders and constituents within the College community.
Lead and coordinate development of solutions to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported. Present project proposals, strategic initiatives, and provide updates on scope of projects and deliverables.
Continually defines ways to increase internal client satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Completes required Professional Development hours per fiscal year.
Performs other duties as assigned.
