We are seeking a passionate accessibility specialist and change advocate. If you're genuinely excited about digital accessibility and inclusive design, we want you to build culture and capability, and influence design and development, to improve government digital products and services for citizens and employees.
As the Digital Accessibility Lead you will work collaboratively to support the Queensland Government to understand, meet and deliver accessibility requirements to remove barriers for people with diverse disabilities such as auditory, cognitive, physical, speech, and visual.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following.
Detailed level of knowledge of accessibility and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
Proven experience of independent WCAG auditing on web and native mobile platforms and using assistive technology.
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences.
Have a balanced approach to managing conflicting demands and assist the team to adapt to a changing environment.
Work collaboratively with team members to deliver the required work program, break down projects into objectives and goals, and accurately scope out requirements.
Consider wider organisational objectives when making decisions and going about your work.

Preference will be given to applicants with lived experience of disability, experience working with people with disability and/or a demonstrated personal understanding of disability.
