This position serves as a Junior Accessibility Analyst performing and conducting difficult and specialized testing activities for compliance with IITAA (Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act) specifications on equipment and productivity. In this role, you will conduct basic computer software implementation and maintenance of agency computer and data processing systems for IITAA compliance. In addition, you will implement, use and maintain accessible technology software packages and utilize those which are used in the support of the various systems used throughout the Department. This position performs hands-on testing of system usage and programming constraints which preserve accessibility and researches and provides information in the development of Agency and State standards regarding software systems. Essential Functions

Under general direction, serves as a Junior Accessibility Analyst for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) supporting the Department of Human Services (DHS), performing and conducting difficult and specialized testing activities for compliance with IITAA (Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act) specifications on equipment and productivity.
Conducts difficult and specialized computer software implementation and maintenance of agency computer and data processing systems for IITAA compliance.
Implements, uses, and maintains accessible technology software packages and utilizes those which are used in the support of the various systems used throughout the Department.
Performs hands-on testing of system usage and programming constraints which preserve accessibility.
Researches and provides information in the development of Agency and State standards regarding software systems.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the Information Technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.

Specialized Skills

Requires one (1) year of professional experience performing quality assurance testing of information systems and software.
Requires one (1) year of professional experience conducting computer software implementation and maintenance for IITAA compliance, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year of professional experience performing quality assurance testing of information systems and software.
One (1) year of professional experience conducting computer software implementation and maintenance for IITAA compliance, or similar.
One (1) year of professional experience implementing, using, and maintaining accessible technology software packages which are used for IITA compliance.
One (1) year of professional experience in hands-on accessibility testing, establishing performance criteria, monitoring software, and evaluating hardware and software prototypes for organizational use.
Ability to analyze and diagnose system issues and coordinate efforts to resolve.
Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
