Position Description
EnCompass LLC is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to support the Accounts Payable activities within the Accounting Department of our fast-growing company.

This full-time position is located at the EnCompass HQ office in Silver Spring, MD, and follows the EnCompass flexible hybrid work model with split time between telework and the office.

Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

Position Duties and Responsibilities
Essential functions:

Enter vouchers in accounting system, listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts and coding per accounting policies and procedures
Set-up and maintain the vendor content in the accounting system
Process domestic and international travel expense reports adhering to government regulations
Resolve invoice and payment discrepancies and prepare documentation for files
Assist in corporate credit card reconciliation and ensure correct accounting codes and submission of required documentation for all transactions
Oversee integrity of accounts payable electronic files and documents
Coordinate and prepare pertinent information for external accounting firm and auditors
Provide excellent customer service and problem resolution for both internal and external partners
Assist with monitoring and responding to requests submitted to finance email box
Assist accounting team as needed with special projects
Engage fully as a member of the EnCompass staff team, including participating in staff meetings and other EnCompass events, and providing administrative support to other team members as needed
Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements
Qualifications

Academic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience, OR High School Diploma and 10 years of experience, OR Associate’s degree and 8 years of experience, OR a Master’s degree and 4 years of experience
Experience and Skills

Minimum of 4 years of experience in Accounting
Experience with Deltek Costpoint is a must
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of US Government contracts preferred
Familiarity working with foreign currencies is desirable
Ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail resulting in work reflecting a high degree of accuracy
Must have a proven track record of dependability and dedication to successful task completion and follow-through
Demonstrably able to work independently, while also working in a team and collaborating resourcefully
Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information, ensuring it is handled securely and in compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures
Excellent organization and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize assignments and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Communicates credibly and diplomatically, in a timely manner, with all levels in an organization
Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events
Ability to work in an appreciative, strengths-based environment

The pay range for this role allows for the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. At EnCompass, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $67,000-$79,500.
