Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist

Federated Hermes is seeking a Senior Digital Accessibility Specialist at our Pittsburgh headquarters to utilize their specialized knowledge of digital accessibility standards to guide the company’s digital accessibility program, and to promote compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and related international standards for all digital properties.


What You’ll Do:

Perform regular accessibility audits of corporate websites and other digital properties for compliance.
Establish guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible websites.
Manage the process and work with a vendor to convert documents to ensure compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Ensure converted documents are correctly posted to websites.
Evaluate and recommend assistive software and hardware.
Identify, implement, and oversee tools for monitoring website accessibility.
Develop and implement outreach and training for web designers, developers, and content providers.
Create accessibility reports and presentations as needed.
Serve as a subject matter expert for accessibility for staffing including the Marketing Team, Digital Marketing Team and Information Technology professionals.


The Expertise We are Looking For:

Associate’s degree with relevant experience will be considered. Bachelor's degree in digital/internet marketing, business, computer science or communications preferred.
3+ years of web communications, web development, or other digital media experience required.
2+ years of experience evaluating website accessibility required.
Knowledge od U.S. and international accessibility standards required.
Knowledge of digital assistive technologies (JAWs, Siteimprove, NVDA, Voiceover, Talkback) required.
Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, and Java preferred.
