ECS is seeking a part time 508 Compliance Specialist to work in our Fairfax, VA office.

Job Description:
The candidate must be familiar with Section 508 Compliance in regards to reports. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing reports to ensure that they are Section 508 compliant before submission to our customer on an as needed basis. ECS is seeking Information Technology (IT) professionals with experience in Section 508 and Accessibility assessments and testing. The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience and knowledge of Section 508, and on accessibility-related web sites electronic documents (e.g., PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) in order to both accurately identify accessibility issues.

Duties include:

Reviewing all electronic documents for Section 508 compliance.
Testing Web applications documents for 508 compliance.
Changing existing applications documents to be 508 compliance.

Required Skills:

B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, human computer interaction, or related field
At least 3 years of specific experience preparing, testing, and correcting documents for 508 compliance.
Ability to perform complete audits and validation testing on electronic documents based upon Section 508 accessibility guidelines.
Experience testing electronic documents (PDF, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) for Section 508 compliance.
Knowledge on how to create 508 compliant source files and advise on accessibility and other issues in advance.
Advise authors, content developers, and staff on how to ensure documents are compliant.
Must have a keen eye for errors in document structure, headings, reading order, images, lists, charts, tables, and hyperlinks. Command of MS Office and Adobe InDesign required.
Knowledge of Section 508 requirements for IT software and electronic documents (e.g., PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
High proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills with solid technical writing skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience with test planning and testing
Familiarity with Federal Government accessibility testing
Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, JQuery, SQL, and Web Services
Experience in software development using Microsoft stack (C#, ASP.NET, SQL Server, etc.)
