We are growing our team and are constantly looking for Section 508 Compliance Testers to work in Washington, DC. The Section 508 Testers will conduct assessments and ongoing audits and provide remediation recommendations and support to ensure that the Clients’ web pages, documents and applications are compliant with all required government standards. The Section 508 Tester will also be responsible for continuously improving and updating Section 508 compliance processes and educating others on the team how to implement and test web pages and applications for Section 508 compliance.

Responsibilities

Provides inputs to or develops testing policies, practices and procedures that meet the full lifecycle needs for the enterprise and the project.
Develops/provides input to plans, documents and related testing artifacts.
Provides input to or prepares test plans.
Work closely with the Section 508 Coordinator to ensure that all reported Section 508 issues are remediated
Identifies, records, and helps manage specific 508 defects to resolution
Conduct in-depth Section 508 assessments via manual reviews and using automated test tools and assistive technologies (i.e., JAWS, etc.)
Prepare reports concerning failure in Section 508 compliance and ways to remediate
Review Section 508 compliance defects with developers and discuss possible resolutions
Monitor resolution of Section 508 compliance violations
May participate in SDLC gate reviews as required; reviews and makes recommendations concerning product test readiness and test environment readiness.
Verifies product testability.
Communicates testing results and activities status to stakeholders.
Ensures testing meets enterprise architecture, information assurance, Section 508 and other functional and non-functional requirements.
Scope includes automated and manual product integration, system, usability, and acceptance testing.
Identifies and brings program issues, risks and alternative solutions to higher management attention; resolves issues.
Reviews status with higher management.
Develops and maintains a working environment that fosters professional growth for team members as well as good relationships with customers, and suppliers.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years system/software testing practitioner experience.
1-5 years of website design and implementation experience.
1-5 years spent working on websites/web applications to make them Section 508 compliant
Clear understanding of Section 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the techniques needed to comply with these requirements
Experience working with Section 508 compliance assistive tools such as JAWS
Experience testing websites and web applications for Section 508 compliance
Proven ability to identify compliance violations and recommend technical solutions to remediate them
Experience defining, documenting and implementing Section 508 compliance development and testing processes
Demonstrated oral/written communications and client facing skills
Display an astute understanding of the process and documentation, test approach and management plan requirements regulated by the client
Display technical competence and strong organizational skills while multitasking
Designs the overall project test plan and master test schedule for simple level projects.
Recommends quality improvement initiatives for future application / project releases.
