Serve as a 508 tester and advocate for accessibility, a resource for colleagues who need to develop accessible products and applications in the government space. Apply specific functional, working, or general industry knowledge, when testing in both existing and in-development products, applications, and documentation and contribute to solutions to various problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide the activities of junior employees. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of experience as a 508-accessibility specialist
1+ years of experience with accessibility and 508 remediation of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents
1+ years of experience with the 508-tagging process in Adobe PDF
Experience with accessibility and 508 testing processes, including DHS Trusted Tester and assistive technology, including JAWS, NVDA, ZoomText, Dragon, or Keyboard testing
Experience with WCAG 2.0 A and AA standards and 508 standards as they apply to Information Communications Technology (ICT)
Experience with validating 508 compliances against government accessibility standards
Knowledge of CommonLook software
Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
Bachelor’s degree
Additional Qualifications:
Ability to follow a repeatable method of testing to produce audit results
Ability to explain next steps for compliance to developers clearly
Vetting:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
