Description

Digital Accessibility monitors campus digital accessibility of digital content and assists in the management of day-to-day operations of the University�s Digital Accessibility Program.

Supports the Executive Director of Digital Accessibility in the development, implementation, and monitoring of digital accessibility for the Learning Management System, web content and digital documents.
Participates in the accessibility evaluations of digital products for possible purchase and deployment, including review and evaluation of vendor-provided responses (such as VPATs). Must have ability and willingness to learn accessibility process and understand federal and state accessibility requirements.
Serves on accessibility committees and task forces as a representative of the unit.
Participates in special projects, facilitates training activities and prepares a variety of statistical reports as needed.
Participates in working groups where various teams collaborate on Accessibility issues. Teams could include, but are not limited to, IT services, instructional designers, faculty and web development.
Participates in the review and maintenance of guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible websites, IT software, systems and online materials in compliance with Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 213 and federal ADA regulations.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 1 years experience

Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) years of directly job-related experience.

Additional Job Posting Information

Department willing to accept education in lieu of experience.

Default location is UH campus with option to work remotely 1-2 days per week once trained and proficient.

Will consider requests to locate the position at UH-Sugarland or UH-Katy campus subject to office availability.


Salary: 3,881.00 - 5,047.00
