About the Role


The Senior Accessibility Specialist conducts expert reviews of websites, mobile apps, and digital content to ensure accessibility. They deliver detailed lists and Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACRs). Using their expertise in WCAG, they guide designers and developers towards compliance including testing and validation of fixes. They apply their knowledge of user experience best practices and how people use assistive technology, to create better user experiences and identify opportunities for innovation.


Responsibilities


Producing the required technical documentation (VPATs) and squad coaching to support the eBook and eCommerce products covered under the European Accessibility Act
Maintaining a consistent schedule of VPATs/Audits to be completed once every 1-2 weeks and sharing with the relevant product partners.
Authoring product accessibility statements
Partnering with teams to include people with disabilities in the design and testing of our products.
Supporting dozens of teams through technical coaching, testing, and sign-off in achieving and sustaining compliance.
Keeping up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in UX and accessibility
Assisting customers and sales teams in resolving accessibility issues with products.

Requirements


Have experience in an accessibility specialist role supporting digital websites, apps, and content.
Have experience authoring over 10 Accessibility Conformance Reports/ VPATs
Have experience testing websites and native apps with screen readers, screen magnifiers, and other assistive technologies.
Demonstrate advanced knowledge of WCAG 2.1 success criteria and techniques.
Demonstrate knowledge troubleshooting accessibility problems on websites and mobile applications.
Demonstrate understanding of how people with disabilities use assistive technology.
Be comfortable working on multiple projects and with multiple team members concurrently.
