Department Summary

The Center for Learning Experimentation, Application, and Research (CLEAR) supports the University's goals of providing the best undergraduate educational experience in Texas and providing a superior graduate education by working closely with faculty to maximize their teaching effectiveness regardless of the mode of instructional delivery. We assist faculty in the design and delivery of courses as well as with the measurement of learning at the class, department, and college level. We serve as the liaison for various administrative and technical support functions, thereby saving faculty's time, talent, and creative energies for their students. We provide leadership in the development of policies and the exploration of innovative tools and techniques that promote teaching excellence.

Position Overview

DSI CLEAR is seeking to hire a part-time hourly Accessibility and Copyright Reviewer interested in digital accessibility and ensuring copyright fair use in online courses and learning environments. This position will support the DSI CLEAR accessibility and copyright team in reviewing and remediating online course content and learning environments so that they are ADA compliant and comply with fair use and copyright laws.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related field and familiarity with WCAG 2.1 A and AA standards, copyright laws, Fair Use doctrine, and knowledge and awareness of accessibility and copyright tools for testing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Passionate about Universal Design for Learning, accessible educational technology
and learning in higher education.
• Interest in best practices in digital accessibility and copyright in online courses.
• Tenacious problem-solver, innovative, and self-motivated/directed.
• Works well independently, successful collaborator, and strong learning agility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Interest in UX Design
